Job Summary: The Student Pastor provides ministerial leadership focused on students in grades 6th through 12th and their parents, for a designated CityRise campus. Provides for an appropriate environment in which program participants grow in their knowledge of Jesus and develop their faith life and experience meaningful experiences with the church. Supervisory Responsibilities: - Supervision of Student Ministry Associates and Ministry Interns as directed. - Recruits and oversees volunteers to assist with the student ministry, discipleship, and outreach programs. Duties/Responsibilities: Program Administration and Oversight - Provides oversight and leadership for student worship, bible study, and other student events at a designated CityRise campus - Assist with Student Ministry budget development and performance. - Act and lead rationally and consistently in a manner becoming the CityRise statement of beliefs and in accordance with its expressed values. People Leadership - Plan and lead regular and specially called campus operation, ministry staff and volunteer meetings. - Provide training for staff and volunteers. - Recruit new ministry staff members and volunteers as needed. - Provide for ongoing performance management, including ensuring constructive and timely performance evaluations, identification of opportunities for improvement, and corrective action when appropriate, for specific employees as directed. Pastoral Care - Monitor the students, their families, and team members, for spiritual needs and minister to them. - Provide initial counseling as needed with students and their families and refer to qualified professionals in situations that call for ongoing, specialized, or crisis care. - Partner with Student Pastor, Campus Pastor, and Discipleship and Pastoral Care Pastor for benevolence cases. Outreach - Develop and lead outreach efforts to un-churched students and their families and prospective church members. - Managing social media accounts of the student ministry. - Partner with Comms to ensure important information is shared on various platforms including the church website, app, and other media. Required Skills/Abilities: - Excellent interpersonal skills with the many diverse segments of the Church Body. - Excellent teaming with other skills. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong supervisory and leadership skills. - Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. - Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. - Bilingual – English and Spanish preferred - Demonstrates a biblical lifestyle reflecting the mission and beliefs of CityRise. Education and Experience: - Required Education: Bachelors’ Degree - Required Experience: Two years’ experience teaching in a church or related environment. - Preferred Education: Master’s degree - Preferred Experience: Three or more years’ experience teaching in a church environment. Physical Requirements: - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. - Must be able to stand for 45 minutes. - Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Work Location: Work is performed in hybrid approximately 60% on-site, 40% remote. Definitions of work location: - On-site- typically on a CityRise campus - Remote- any location where work that can be completed effectively from - Hybrid- combination of on-site and remote, possibly including additional locations for specific activities i.e. pastoral care visits, homes, meetings, retreats, educational seminars.
