Grace Community Church is an independent, non-denominational church in the Baptist tradition of faith and practice. Grace Community is an Elder lead, Bible believing congregation with the mission of exalting Christ, proclaiming His word, building His church, all by the power of His Spirit. We are seeking a Godly man who is responsible to the church for proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for using his skills in administrative leadership, for engaging in pastoral care ministries to meet the needs of persons in the church and in the community, and to act as the chief administrator of the ministerial and vocational staff. Position Overview: Church in the Gardens is prayerfully seeking a full-time, male Senior Pastor to provide spiritual leadership and general oversight of the church and its ministries. The Senior Pastor will serve collaboratively in the Elder Board. As Senior Pastor, he will be leading the staff and congregation in alignment with the church’s vision and mission. Pre-requisites/minimum qualifications for applicants: - Minimum (3) years with demonstrated experience in ministry leadership. - Ordination by a recognized denomination. - Demonstrates biblical knowledge and understanding of the theological context. Preaching and Teaching: - Must be devoted to the ministry of prayer and the Word. (Acts 6:4; 1 Timothy 3:2; 2 - Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:9) - Equip the church body doctrinally by teaching the Word. (Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Timothy - 4:11, 13; 1 Timothy 5:17; 2 Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:9; Titus 2:11) - Make the Word of God fully known, proclaim, warn and teach everyone with all wisdom. - (Colossians 1:25-29) Discipling and Equipping Leadership - Equip elders and the saints by entrusting and presenting them with sound doctrine (2 - Timothy 1:13, 2:2). - Invest in and develop future leadership for the church and care for the body. About our Church First Baptist Church of Monroeville [FBCM] is a welcoming, Christ-centered congregation affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA [ABCUSA] and ABCOPAD. Located just east of Pittsburgh, we are a financially stable church with a rich history, a heart for biblical teaching, and a growing passion for serving the community. Our pastor of 16 yrs retired, and we are now being pastored by an interim minister. Our congregation is biblically focused on prayer, friendly, and committed to helping people grow as disciples of Christ. We value authentic relationships, meaningful worship, strong biblical preaching, and compassionate outreach. One of our signature ministries is our Diaper Ministry [Love in Every Diaper], a community outreach that has provided over 350,000 diapers over the past decade. This ministry takes place monthly and provides families with infants and young children with diapers and related items. We also maintain active ministries for adults, children, and the surrounding community while seeking new opportunities to share the Gospel. As we prayerfully seek God's direction, we are looking for a Senior Pastor who will shepherd our congregation, faithfully preach God's Word, equip believers for ministry, and help lead us into the next season of growth and outreach. Position Summary The Senior Pastor will serve as the spiritual leader of FBCM, providing biblical preaching, pastoral care, leadership, and vision while working alongside our congregation to fulfill Christ's mission in our community and beyond. Responsibilities - Preach and teach God's Word in a clear, Christ-centered, and biblically faithful manner. - Lead worship services and administer the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper. - Provide pastoral care through visitation, counseling, weddings, funerals, and crisis ministry. - Equip and encourage members for spiritual growth and service. - Work collaboratively with church leadership, ministry teams, and volunteers. - Develop leaders and encourage the involvement of all generations in the life of the church. - Provide vision for evangelism, discipleship, missions, and community outreach. - Maintain a visible presence within the church family and the Monroeville community. Qualifications - Demonstrate a vibrant and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ - Affirm the authority and inspiration of Scripture. - Possess a shepherd's heart with a genuine love for people. - Be an effective communicator with strong expository preaching and teaching skills. - Have experience in pastoral ministry and church leadership. - Demonstrate integrity, humility, wisdom, and servant leadership. - Be able to work effectively with church leaders in a collaborative ministry environment. - Be willing to pursue or maintain ordination consistent with the American Baptist Churches USA if not already ordained within ABCUSA.
