Worship Pastor/Director
Follow Church
Lansing, MI
$40,000 - $50,000
Follow Church, a multicultural, intergenerational community of believers on the west side of Lansing, Michigan, is seeking a Worship Pastor/Director. Since its inception in 2000, our non-denominational church has experienced several seasons of growth, with more people than ever joining us following a substantial expansion and remodel of our building. With thriving ministries for kids, youth, and young adults, we know our reach goes beyond our weekly gatherings. God is on the move in our area, and we are excited to see how He will continue to use our community through it all! We have two services on Sunday mornings, but offer the same experience at both. The Worship Leader works closely with the Lead Pastor to coordinate all elements of the services. As our Sunday morning attendance has increased, so has our diversity. The Worship Leader needs to cultivate a worship experience that reflects the intergenerational and multi-cultural community by building on the foundation already in place and driving a vision for where God is calling us to grow in new expressions of worship. We are just as happy to introduce new songs as we are to throw in a familiar hymn with a full band sound! Our goal is to worship God and have fun while we do it! Check out our livestream on Facebook (facebook.com/FollowChurchMI) or YouTube (@Follow_Church) to get an idea of what our worship service looks like. We also encourage you to check out our website (follow-church.com) or Instagram (@follow_church) to get a better idea of who we are! Worship Pastor/Director responsibilities include: - Leading weekly worship practices and on Sunday morning before services. - Preparing all musical elements for our weekend services. - Scheduling worship team volunteers through Planning Center Online. - Introducing new worship music regularly. - Recruiting and training new team members, including musicians, vocalists, soundboard operators, and other technicians. - Coordinating ProPresenter song files for weekend services, determining sequence and accuracy. - Assisting in other ways that fit personal gifts, passions, and needs of the church. General qualifications for the Worship Pastor/Director role: - Strives to follow Jesus’ example in everything they do. - Models and leads heartfelt, invitational worship that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus. - Skilled in vocal and instrumental direction and performance. - Attends weekly staff meetings. - Meets regularly with the Lead Pastor. - Possesses basic computer and organizational skills. - Loves Jesus, loves people, and loves to have fun! This is intended as a full-time position with a salary range of $40,000 to $50,000 (commensurate with education and experience), plus retirement benefits. We are open to a range of 20-40 hours per week for the right candidate if they prefer to work fewer hours while still meeting the general demands of the position. The person hired will be able to start as soon as they are available. If this sounds like you, resumes can be sent to jobs@follow-church.com by July 31, 2026.
