The right candidate will have 5+ years of ministry experience with a consistent track record of ministry growth and leadership. Grace Ann Arbor is... Multi-Ethnic: approximately 60-70% White, 15-20% Asian, 15-20% Black and Hispanic, 5-10% Mixed / Others Multi-Generational: predominantly graduate students, young professional and young families (with a good dose of older families and seasoned saints) Healthy Church & Staff Culture: high trust and support, healthy communication and accountability, firm yet flexible systems and processes (i.e., not overly loose nor rigid) Strongly Missional and Attractional: active in being good news to our city and preaching good news in a winsome and compelling way to highly educated, ambitious, skeptical people (68% people in the community have no religious affiliation of any kind) living in and around the best college-town in the U.S. (consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in the U.S.) PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1) Lead the discipleship efforts that champions our values of worship, community, and mission. - Recruit, develop, and coach Community Group Leaders. - Collaborate with discipleship team members to champion Community Group engagement with a goal of 90% adult participation. - Oversee Community Group cohorts that support leaders and encourage multiplication. - Develop workshops/courses that help new and seasoned disciples deepen their faith. - Play a key role in helping people take the next step in their faith journey. - Empower and equip leaders to coordinate/lead retreats, events & missional opportunities. 2) Catalyze missional living among Community Groups - Strategically innovate new Community Groups designed to live out a unique mission that reaches and disciples new people. - Mobilize groups to make a local impact by serving with local mission partners. - Stir the imagination and build the courage of individuals and groups to identify their mission field and faithfully obey Jesus’ leading. 3) Preach up to 8-15 weekends - Share preaching responsibilities under the direction of the Location Pastor and aligned with the network teaching schedule. - Collaborate with the Location pastor to develop a dynamic, practical and biblical model for preaching.
