This position is responsible for creating and sustaining an engaging, transformative worship environment while simultaneously spearheading efforts to connect the church with the surrounding community. To create a setting where the Word of God is valued and honored, the Spirit of God is welcome and invited to act, and the soul of each participant in the service is moved and encouraged to transform more into Christlikeness. Work in conjunction with our Lead Pastor to plan for and anticipate the presence of God in our worship of Him each week, incorporating both contemporary and traditional elements. This role requires a spiritually mature leader with a passion for creative arts and a heart for evangelism. The ideal candidate will blend technical skill, pastoral care for volunteers, and a strategic focus on community engagement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES WORSHIP ARTS LEADERSHIP (approx. 60-70%) - Vision & Planning: Collaborate with Lead Pastor to create engaging, Spirit-centered worship experiences. Select music and integrate other arts (drama, visuals, media) that align with the theological vision of the church. - Team Development: Recruit, audition, train, and mentor worship team members (vocalists, musicians, tech operators) to ensure excellence and a servant’s heart. - Rehearsals & Sunday Services: Lead weekly rehearsals and serve as the primary worship leader/planner for Sunday worship services, special events, and seasonal programs. - Technical Oversight: Oversee audio-visual production, including sound, lighting, projection; care for musical instruments owned by SCC; and maintain live-streaming equipment and software. - Copyright Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with CCLI and streaming licensing. - Shepherding: Provide pastoral care, prayer support, and spiritual encouragement to the worship and outreach teams. - Budgeting: Manage the annual Worship and Outreach budgets. COMMUNITY OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT LEADERSHIP (approx. 30-40%) - Lead Community Mission Partnerships: Continue and expand relationships with established missional community partnerships (COSILoveYou, Mercy’s Gate, Springs Rescue Mission, etc.); create new partnerships as opportunities are presented. - Creative Evangelism: Use art, music, and special events to create "low-barrier" opportunities for community members to engage with Springs Community Church. - Alpha Course Support: Support the Evangelism Stream leader in the Alpha Course ministry. - Lead the Congregation in Neighboring Events: Support and guide our Kingdom Life Communities in their neighboring efforts. Required Qualifications Education/Certification: College graduate or equivalent relevant working experience. Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience leading worship in a similar church setting. Related Knowledge/Skills - Spiritual Maturity: A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, a growing relationship with Him, and alignment with the church’s statement of faith and mission. - Musical Competency: Proficient in leading worship with a strong voice and primary instrument (guitar or keyboard). - Leadership Experience: Proven experience in building teams, leading volunteers, and managing a ministry department. - Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of audio systems, lighting, and related software (Planning Center, ProPresenter). - Creative & Relational: Innovative, community-oriented, and able to build relationships with a diverse range of people.
