Position Summary: Responsible for teaching and building discipling relationships with middle school and high school students so that they may come to know and grow in Jesus Christ. Job Status: Full-Time FLSA Status: Minister Direct Report to: Executive Minister; employment items Administrative Minister Essential Duties: - Develop and implement creative ways of reaching young people for Jesus Christ. - Attend student's athletics events, visit with them (with appropriate boundaries and permissions), and train up adult leaders to do the same. - Lead, teach, plan, and coordinate all student programs. This includes regularly scheduled programming on Sunday morning and Wednesday Night. - Prepare and deliver engaging and relevant teachings, sermons, and lessons that effectively communicate Biblical truths to students and, at times, adults, in a relatable and understandable manner. - Empower, train, and equip students to share the Gospel with their friends, peers, and family. - Recruit, equip, and train volunteers to serve as age/gender specific small group leaders. Pour into the leaders so they can disciple the students. - Work with mentors in reviewing current and purchased curricular materials, planning activities, and act as the church resource person in recommending educational materials for all middle and high school youth. - Plan and implement various camps and treats. This includes CIY MIX, CIY MOVE, and TCTC. - Let the heart of student ministry beat from small groups. Empower small group leaders to further enhance the spiritual growth of students. Include outreach, missional awareness, and spiritual formation to further enhance the growth of students. - Coordinate with the children’s minister on scope and schedule of ministry. - Ensure a healthy and easy transition for 5th graders moving into 6th grade. Work and coordinate with the children’s minister on this plan. - Help graduating seniors take their next step of getting plugged in with a local church if they move away; or help them get plugged in with a group at BCCC. - Handle administrative duties related to student ministry, such as budget management, record-keeping, communication with parents and guardians, and coordination with other church staff members. Occasional Duties: - Advise and potentially assist in leading the ministry to college-aged young people. - Assist in ministerial duties as directed by the Senior Minister or Executive Minister. Position Qualifications: To fulfill this position, the following qualifications and characteristics are necessary: - A passion for serving Jesus Christ. - A love for Christ’s people and desire to help them grow in discipleship. - A burning desire to help students find and grow in Jesus. - A demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. - Have leadership and communication skills, specifically in leading a team. - Exemplified a love for Christ’s Church and a desire to nurture and care for it. - A bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in theology, ministry, or a related field is preferred. Must have a solid foundation in Biblical education, theology, and ministry principles. - Willingness to agree to and abide by a Staff Covenant for guidance on attitudes and behaviors. Physical Requirements: This position requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, pulling, and lifting up to 40 pounds. In an eight-hour shift, this position may require sitting for three hours and standing or walking for five hours. Children’s Ministry Director Reports to: NexGen Pastor Job Function The Children’s Ministry Director provides vision, leadership, and oversight for the Children’s Ministry, ensuring that its philosophy, direction, and ministry efforts align with ChristWay’s mission, values, and strategic objectives. This role serves to lead and strengthen the ministry's overall effectiveness at investing in families and making disciples of Christ. Responsibilities - Develop and execute a ministry strategy that disciples children and equips, supports, and partners with parents for the overall discipleship of their family. - Create a welcoming atmosphere and experience for children and parents each week during Sunday mornings, Life Group K!DS, and family ministry events. - Maintain strong leadership for the children’s ministry through effective recruiting, training and retaining strategies with volunteers. - Provide leadership, oversight and evaluation for all children’s ministry programming and initiatives. - Steward ministry resources, curriculum and facilities to support effective discipleship and ministry excellence. - Collaborate with other church ministries and staff to ensure alignment with the overall mission and vision of ChristWay. - In partnership with church leadership, develop an annual budget for the children’s ministry and operate within the budget each year. - Fulfills other responsibilities as instructed by the NexGen Pastor. The Worship Minister/Leader is responsible for leading the church in planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive music ministry in a multi-generational church. Coach – identify and equip leaders and volunteers in the Music Ministry. - Rehearse the choir, praise team, and praise instruments on a weekly basis. - Cooperatively lead in the enlistment, training, and advising of singers, accompanists, and other musicians who serve in the church music ministry. - Coach the leaders of volunteer-led music ministries (audio/visual teams, age-graded choirs, praise instrumentalists, ensembles, etc.) Pastor – serve as an integral part of the Ministry Staff Team. - Maintain consistent office hours and participate in all staff meetings. - Seek to disciple individuals within the congregation and be active in evangelism. - Participate in hospital visitation and guest outreach. - Be available for occasional night or weekend music ministry events. - Be available for occasional emergency pastoral care visits. - Supervise and closely collaborate with the Worship Ministry Assistant. - Serve as Staff advisor for church committees or ministries as assigned by the Sr. Pastor. Administrator – faithfully steward the time and resources of the church and its members. - Develop and manage the annual Music Ministry budget as agreed to and approved by the Finance Committee. - Purchase and maintain all musical and audio/visual equipment. - Supervise and collaborate with the Worship Ministry Assistant. - Supervise the additions and maintenance of the Music Ministry library and equipment, including music materials, supplies, and instruments. - Stay informed on current music methods, materials, promotions and administration, implementing them as appropriate. - Arrange and provide music for weddings, funerals, special projects, ministries, and other church events as requested. - Assist Sr. Pastor in planning worship services, aligning music with the message when possible. Producer – oversee elements of production and programming for all corporate worship. - Coordinate the church music ministry with the calendar and emphasis of the church. - Lead the choirs, musicians and audio/visual teams in worship services. - Schedule soloists and special groups along with rehearsal times with accompanists. - Assist in the selection and creative design of slides, graphics, and artwork for music and sermon portions of the worship service. Qualifications – The Worship Minister/Leader - The Worship Minister/Leader will possess a personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. - The Worship Minister/Leader will be spiritually mature and will concur with the church’s statement of faith, as well as its mission, strategy and core values. He will comply with all established church policies and procedures as well as all applicable federal and state laws. - Most importantly, the Worship Minister/Leader must meet the qualifications of I Timothy 3:1-7. - He must affirm the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 (https://bfm.sbc.net/bfm2000/). - Must be capable of leading a multi-generational congregation in worship through various styles of music, ranging from classic hymns to current worship music. - A thorough knowledge of music is required, including the ability to read sheet music and chart music. - He must be innovative, enthusiastic, and work well in a team environment. Proficiency in leading with an instrument is a plus. - He must excel at building and leading a choir, praise team, and praise instrumentalists. - He should have 5+ years of experience leading congregational worship and choirs. - He must be capable of giving creative direction to all elements of congregational worship, special services, and musical presentations. - The Worship Minister/Leader will also provide oversight and training for all additional aspects of BDBC Music & Worship Ministries, including audio/visual teams, multimedia productions, and volunteer-led programs (youth choir, children’s choir, senior choir, etc.). - Technical skills to effectively utilize the necessary equipment and software is required. Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in music at either the undergraduate or graduate level is required. A master’s degree and/or seminary training is strongly preferred.
