The Vine Church is prayerfully seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and spiritually mature Pastor/Minister to join us in serving our congregation and community.

We are a welcoming Christian congregation of approximately 165 active members with a strong desire to grow in faith, strengthen our ministries, serve others, and reach our community with the love of Christ.

We believe the role of pastor is more than standing behind the pulpit on Sunday. We are looking for a spiritual leader who will walk alongside our congregation, build meaningful relationships, and encourage people in their faith.

The Vine Church is an established congregation with a rich Methodist heritage and a commitment to Wesleyan doctrine. As an independent/disaffiliated conservative Methodist congregation, we value our traditions while also looking toward the future and seeking God’s direction for the next chapter of our church.

The Pastor We Are Seeking

Our ideal Pastor/Minister will:

• Have a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and demonstrate a genuine call to pastoral ministry.
• Be committed to the authority of Scripture and sound Christian teaching.
• Deliver engaging, biblically grounded sermons.
• Lead meaningful blended traditional and contemporary worship services.
• Have strong pastoral and interpersonal skills and genuinely care for people.
• Value prayer, discipleship, evangelism, fellowship, and community outreach.
• Work cooperatively with church leadership and congregation members.
• Demonstrate integrity, humility, compassion, and a servant’s heart.
• Be willing to become an active and visible part of our church and the Winchester community.
• Appreciate our Methodist heritage and Wesleyan doctrine while embracing our identity as an independent congregation.

What You Will Do

• The Pastor/Minister will provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care for our congregation, including:
• Preparing and delivering weekly, biblically grounded sermons.
• Leading blended traditional/contemporary worship services and special services.
• Providing pastoral care, counseling, visitation, prayer, and support to members.
• Conducting weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other pastoral services as appropriate.
• Leading and encouraging Bible studies, discipleship opportunities, and Christian education.
• Encouraging evangelism, outreach, and service within the surrounding community.
• Supporting and developing ministries for children, youth, adults, and families.

Qualifications

• A strong Christian faith and demonstrated calling to pastoral ministry.
• Ordination and/or formal theological education is preferred, not required.
• Previous pastoral or ministry experience is preferred.
• Strong preaching, teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to Scripture and sound Christian doctrine.
• An understanding and appreciation of Methodist heritage and Wesleyan theology.
• Strong pastoral-care and leadership abilities.
