Appointed by the Lead Pastor. Relationships - Responsible to the Lead Pastor. - Work cooperatively with all other church staff, particularly the other age-level ministry staff. - Work with the volunteer staff in coordinating the Children’s Ministry. - Communicate with parents about the ministry's activities and programs. Responsibilities: – Attend and participate in staff meetings. – Oversee, grow, and coordinate the church’s Youth Ministry. – Lead, disciple, and interact with students to encourage spiritual growth. – Develop and maintain positive relationships with students and their parents. – Develop, implement, and maintain approved student leaders who will serve the Youth ministry, church, and community. – Develop, implement, and maintain an approved outreach plan for the local community to establish positive relationships with local students, schools, and organizations and increase youth ministry and church growth. Qualifications - Filled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. - Evident relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ - Previous Youth Ministry experience is preferred but not required. - Proficient understanding of the challenges and needs of students and young people. - Organizational skills, computer skills, and proficiency with social media. - Ability to lead by example in dress, attitude, finances, and Christian living. - The Biblical growth, education, and edification of Students ages 13-18. - Provide pastoral care to teen students and their families. - Provide the necessary training for students to succeed after high school to further their Christian discipleship. - Provide an opportunity for all students to meet the following criteria upon completion of the Student Ministry: - Have an established relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. - Demonstrate their commitment to Jesus Christ through water baptism. - Have a solid understanding of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of ministry He offers, and know and/or experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit. - Know and comprehend the mission and purpose of the church and actively participate in the church's ministries according to their gifts, desires, and abilities. - Anything else the Senior Pastor deems necessary to help accomplish the church's goals and mission.

A bachelor's degree is preferred, with seminary or graduate theological education considered a strong asset, along with several years of progressively increasing leadership responsibility in a church or comparable ministry setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in strategic planning, staff leadership, budgeting, and organizational stewardship while maintaining a shepherd's heart for people. STUDENT PASTOR GATHERING POINT CHURCH - Dayton, IN The Student Pastor will provide spiritual leadership, vision, and direction for students (6th–12th grade) and their families at GPC. This role includes overseeing weekly programming, creating discipleship pathways, equipping parents, engaging with schools, and building strong bridges between ministries. The Student Pastor will shepherd students to grow in their faith, discover their purpose, and live as disciples who make disciples. The Student Pastor will be considered effective when: • Students are coming to Christ, being discipled, and living out their faith. • Parents feel supported and equipped as the primary spiritual leaders of their homes. • Healthy volunteer teams are serving with passion and purpose. • Student ministry is integrated into the broader church family and aligned with its vision. • Strong connections are built with schools and the wider community. 1. Programming & Teaching • Lead and oversee weekly Sunday night gatherings designed to engage students with worship, biblical teaching, small groups, and community. • Lead midweek Bible study or discipleship environment to deepen students’ understanding of Scripture and prayer. • Recruit, train, and empower volunteer leaders to serve in all aspects of student ministry. • Ensure all teaching and curriculum align with the church’s mission, vision, values, and theology. 2. QUALIFICATIONS: • Meet character requirements of an elder as outlined in scripture (1 Tim 3, Titus 1), and a strong devotional and prayer life. • A committed, personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is pursuing Him with his/her heart, mind, and soul. • Agree to the Gathering Point Church Statement of Faith and Employee Handbook. • High integrity and confidentiality. • Strong administration, organizational, and communication skills. • Team player and a love for people of all ages. • Teachable spirit and willingness to learn. • Experience and basic knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Pages, Numbers, Keynote, ProPresenter and a willingness to learn other systems such as Planning Center Online or any other church database.
