Job Title: Children’s Director Ridgeway Church - Madison, WI USA Full-Time Position * Housing option available for Full-time position if needed Ridgeway is a well-established church that has served the city of Madison and surrounding communities for 75 years. As a church, we are passionate about seeing people of all ages and backgrounds come to know Jesus Christ personally, and grow in knowledge of the gospel through teaching, discipleship and community. Our mission is simple: we are a church called to impact our city & beyond with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Ridgeway also operates a state-licensed child care center (Sunny Ridge Kids) Monday through Friday in the building. This gives us the opportunity to care for approximately 80 children and their families on a daily basis. The role of the Children’s Director is to provide leadership, vision, and direction that creates a life-giving atmosphere for children, families, and volunteers. They will work to implement the mission and vision of Ridgeway Church through ministry activities and programming for children from birth to 5th grade. Job Requirements: - Committed Christ-follower with a desire to build the church - Love for children and families - Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills - Ability to build, lead and grow volunteer teams - Competency with basic computer software (Microsoft Word & Excel etc.), and the capacity to learn new software (Planning Center etc.) Job Responsibilities Full-Time Would Include: - Build, develop, lead and train a well rounded children’s ministry leadership team - Oversee all programming and ministry for children ages birth – 5th grade, including Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, summer programming and special events. - Oversee all scheduling for Children's programs - Create environments, activities and programming for each age group that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth - Maintain a strategy for reaching and connecting with new children and families (including visitation and follow-up as needed) - On average, 15 hours weekly will be spent working at Sunny Ridge Kids - Other duties as assigned Expectations: - Practice Christ-like Servant Leadership - Embrace and live out the mission, vision and values (statement of faith) of Ridgeway Church. - Be reliable, take initiative and be self-motivated. - Willingly adapt to growth, change, innovation and creativity as required - Use appropriate judgment in the areas of discretion, sensitivity and confidentiality - Have a cooperative, healthy and positive relationship with volunteers, coworkers and supervisors. Practice a lifestyle of unity and respect towards all others - Do not participate in any innuendo against the church, it’s leadership or it’s programs - Attend church-wide special events and outreach programs - Model Christ-like humility and submission to church leadership - Attend weekly staff huddles with comprehensive updates from each week - Attend regular meetings with the Associate Pastor Relationships: - Supervised by the Associate Pastor - All departments ultimately report to the Senior Pastor - Supervise and oversee Children’s Ministry volunteers - Work closely with all areas of ministry at Ridgeway Church
