Position Summary 6mo - 1 yr The Youth & Children Intern serves under the Lead Pastor to support and strengthen High Rock Church’s Next Generation Ministries. This part-time internship provides hands-on ministry experience in youth discipleship, children’s ministry organization, volunteer development, and family engagement. The intern will receive coaching, practical ministry training, and opportunities to develop teaching, leadership, and organizational skills. Reports To Lead Pastor Primary Responsibilities Youth Ministry (Primary Focus 6-12th Grade) Planning and leading weekly youth gatherings. - Teach biblical lessons. - Build relationships with students and encourage spiritual growth. - Support a discipleship-centered ministry culture. - Encourage student participation in worship, serving, and church attendance. - Plan retreats, outreach events, camps, and special activities. - Maintain communication with parents under pastoral guidance. Children’s Ministry Support (Birth to 6th grade) - Recruit, training, and scheduling volunteers. - Help maintain safe, organized, and well-staffed classroomsand nursery. - Support curriculum preparation and implementation. - Maintain check-in procedures and child safety standards. - Assist and teach in classrooms when needed. - Provide organizational support to strengthen weekly ministry systems. This position oversees the planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive children's ministry while equipping volunteers, partnering with parents, and creating safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environments that support the spiritual development of children and their families. Essential Responsibilities Children's Ministry Leadership - Work under the direct supervision of the Family Pastor to fulfill the vision and goals of the Children's Ministry. - Direct the planning, organization, execution, and evaluation of all Children's Ministry gatherings, programs, and special events. - Provide leadership for regular ministry programming on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and special events including: Vacation Bible School (VBS) Easter Weekend Parent-Child Dedication Family Ministry events Other children's ministry programs and activities - Understand and minister effectively to the unique needs of today's children and their families. - Continually evaluate ministry effectiveness and pursue innovative and creative approaches to children's ministry. - Work alongside the Family Pastor in the selection, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum for all Children's Ministry environments.
