Position Title: Worship Pastor General Job Description: The Worship Pastor will be responsible to the Senior Pastor and work with all members of the church staff as necessary to plan, develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive programs and ministries related to the Worship Ministries of WSBC. Detailed Job Description - Direct the planning, coordination, operation, and evaluation of a comprehensive music ministry. - Coordinate the church music ministry with the calendar and emphasis of the church. - Plan the congregational services of the church, being responsible for the selection of the music. - Direct the music groups, including but not limited to the adult choir, praise team, and worship band. Be knowledgeable of children’s choir music. Lead in congregational singing and arrange for competent directors in the event of an absence. - Enlist and train leaders for the church music ministry. - Supervise the work of all music leaders for the church music ministry. - Coordinate the performance schedules of music groups and individuals in functions of the church. - Attend staff meetings as directed by the Senior Pastor. - Supervise maintenance of and additions to the music library and equipment. TEMPLE BAPTIST CHURCH Full-Time Children’s Minister (Children’s Ministry Director – KidMin) Reporting Relationship Reports to church leadership as determined by Temple Baptist Church. Position Status - Full-Time Salary Position based on a projected 40-hour work week. - While pay is based upon a projected 40 hours per week, the actual number of hours required during any given week are those needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. It is recognized that the schedule may vary at different times of the year due to activities/events. - Office hours take place Monday–Thursday (unless a special event needs attention on a Friday or Saturday). Responsibilities include being present on Sundays from 8:30 AM until around Noon, Wednesday night KidMin events (6:00 pm - 8:00 pm), and other areas of ministry where childcare and ministry to kids is needed. Job Purpose To lead children to grow in their understanding and relationship with Jesus and help them learn how to follow Him, while overseeing and developing all aspects of Temple Baptist Church’s children’s ministry (birth–6th grade). This role recruits and disciples volunteers, partners with families, and oversees weekly programming and events while supporting our church’s mission: Love, Walk, Lead. Primary Responsibilities - Lead children to grow in their understanding and relationship with Jesus and help them learn how to follow Him. - Help to plan, develop, and implement ministry direction and programs for children (birth–6th grade). - Give oversight to the Nursery, Preschool, Elementary, and Middle-School ministries. - Oversee the inviting, training, and empowering of volunteers. - Communicate weekly and meet quarterly with Children’s Ministry Leaders. - Maintain a monthly volunteer schedule sent at least two weeks in advance. - Follow up with potential volunteers and manage background checks and training. - Lead creative team meetings and implement curriculum. - Help with KidMin check-in system and track attendance. - Oversee setup and operation of children’s ministry environments on Sunday morning and Wednesday nights. • Oversee Kid’s Camp and VBS planning and implementation. - Oversee the Children’s Ministry budget and participate in staff meetings. - Consistently and effectively communicate all ministry related activities and events to families. - Ability to be creative. Children’s ministry isn’t just about teaching. It’s about creating memorable - experiences through crafts, games, interactive lessons, etc. Personal Responsibilities - Maintain God-centered priorities in your life by putting Jesus first, your spouse second, your children third, and the ministry fourth. - Give financially to support the ministry and vision of Temple Baptist Church (Tithes/Offerings). - Be loyal to the staff and to the vision of Temple and always protect the unity of the church family. - Invest and invite the lost to know Jesus and come to Temple. Administrative Expectations - Maintain a regular office schedule. - Keep the church office informed as to how you can be contacted if out of office during church office hours. - Notify staff of absences and provide a suitable substitute when needed.
