Job Qualifications and Requirements
Required
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the vision, mission, values, and Statement of Faith of RiverStone
- Strong calling and passion for discipling middle/high school students
- Ability to teach and communicate Biblical truth in a clear, engaging, and relatable way
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, develop, and lead students and volunteer leaders
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build meaningful relationships with students, parents, and leaders
- Ability to create fun, engaging, and high-energy environments that resonate with students
- Ability to self-start, anticipate needs, and follow through without oversight
- Ability to handle sensitive pastoral situations with wisdom, discretion, and empathy
- Exhibit honesty, integrity, and responsibility
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize effectively
- Ability to work regular office hours, some evenings, weekends, and occasional special events
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least four (4) years of experience in youth ministry
- Previous experience leading in a church youth ministry environment
- Experience recruiting, training, and leading volunteer teams
- Experience planning and executing youth events, retreats, or camps
Job Description
- Continually cast vision and seek the Lord for the direction of the youth ministry.
- Plan and lead a weekly worship service for grades 6-12.
- Prayerfully prepare and deliver teaching at the weekly worship service and develop a teaching team to assist.
- Provide vision and direction for the development of youth small groups.
- Develop and encourage small group leaders to be the primary relational connection point for students.
- Recruit and train small group leaders with an emphasis on investing in students over multiple years.
- Create a culture of shared ownership by inviting parents and leaders to actively co-labor in the spiritual formation of students.
- Plan and coordinate fun and engaging weekly pre-service games and activities for students.
- Lead the weekly pre-service prayer meeting.
- Build and invest in a student leadership team made up of high school students.
- Provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care to students.
- Plan and lead outreaches throughout the year.
- Ensure effective administrative systems are in place to support the growth and organization of the ministry.
- Develop and manage the annual budget for the youth ministry and OneCamp, and ensure accountability to the approved budget.
- Plan and lead youth ministry special events including:
OneCamp - provide spiritual oversight and vision for camp, collaborate in year-round planning with TNI youth pastors and stakeholders, and recruit volunteers Middle School Retreat - plan and support an annual middle school retreat led by high school students High School Bible Study (optional) - prayerfully lead weekly teaching for high school students while developing and equipping a teaching team to assist Youth Mission Trip - lead one annual youth mission trip and provide spiritual vision aligned with the host mission team, along with pastoral care and any other need Golf Tournament - lead the recruitment of sponsors/teams and secure raffle prizes to support OneCamp fundraising efforts.
