Job Description

Position Summary:

This person leads and oversees the preaching and teaching ministries of the church, as well as advancing the church’s mission to make maturing disciples of Jesus Christ. They supervise the other church staff and contribute to their development through fellowship, encouragement, cooperation, and prayer support.

Responsibilities Summary:

  • Oversees teaching of the Bible on Sunday mornings and in other settings.
  • Serves as a member of the elder board to provide spiritual oversight of the church body.
  • Leads the church staff and coordinates with them to offer church ministries and programs.
  • Provide pastoral care and counsel to congregants.

Qualifications Summary:

  • Character consistent that represents and demonstrates Christ-like traits.
  • Personal faith in Jesus Christ and someone who agrees with and upholds CCF’s doctrine and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to preach and teach the word of God.
  • A passion for pastoral ministry.
  • An approachable manner and a desire to interact with, and relate to, other church members.
  • If married, a family that is supportive of candidate’s ministry.
  • M.Div. degree from an accredited seminary.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a local church, preferably with responsibility for direct reports.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow in faith and in ministry skills.
