Job Description:
The Executive Pastor will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to help Mission Grove Church move from growth to sustainable multiplication. This role exists to turn vision into reality—aligning people, systems, and strategy so the church can more effectively help every man, woman, and child experience Jesus.
This leader will oversee staff, systems, and ministry execution while building a healthy culture rooted in trust and empowerment. The Executive Pastor will ensure clarity across the organization, develop leaders, and create scalable systems that support continued growth.
The ideal candidate is a high-capacity leader who thrives at the intersection of vision and execution, able to think strategically while implementing practically.

Key Responsibilities
Vision Execution & Strategic Leadership
- Translate vision into actionable plans, timelines, and measurable outcomes
- Drive clarity across the organization (who owns what, how things get done)
- Lead and manage key initiatives (“rocks”) aligned with church priorities
- Help steward the annual ministry calendar and strategic planning process
Staff Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop staff toward high trust + high empowerment (True North culture)
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, and leadership development pathways
- Conduct regular 1:1s, feedback rhythms, and performance conversations
- Build a leadership pipeline that multiplies leaders at every level
Systems, Operations & Organizational Health
- Build and refine systems that support church growth (processes, workflows, communication)
- Oversee ministry playbooks, standard operating procedures, and execution rhythms
- Ensure strong internal communication and alignment across departments
- Implement and maintain healthy meeting rhythms (L10s, staff meetings, etc.)
Ministry Alignment & Discipleship Pathway
- Ensure all ministries align with Mission Grove’s vision:
- Planting the Gospel, Growing in Community, Multiplying through Service
- Partner with ministry leaders (Next Gen, Groups, Worship, etc.) to ensure clarity and cohesion
- Help define and execute a clear discipleship pathway for the church
Financial Stewardship & Resource Management
- Oversee budgeting process in partnership with administrative leadership
- Ensure resources are aligned with mission and strategic priorities
- Monitor financial health and reporting with clarity and integrity
Qualifications
- A growing, demonstrated relationship with Jesus Christ
- Meets biblical leadership qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9; 1 Peter 5:1–4)
- Proven leadership experience in church, business, or organizational leadership
- Strong strategic thinking and execution skills
- High emotional intelligence and relational leadership ability
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
- Alignment with Mission Grove’s doctrine, vision, and values
Preferred (Not Required)
- 5-10 years of experience in a multi-staff or growing church context
- Master’s Degree or Higher from Seminary
- Experience leading teams through growth and change
- Background in operations, leadership development, or organizational systems
