Executive Pastor

Job Description

The Invitation

WAY Church is seeking an Executive Pastor who is a culture multiplier — someone who strengthens what exists, builds what’s missing, and helps move people from attendance to ownership.

As a growing church in our early years, we are intentionally building clear, healthy pathways for spiritual formation. We believe discipleship does not happen accidentally — it is cultivated through leadership, intentional environments, and relational investment.

This is not a maintenance role. It is a leadership assignment for someone who sees systems as tools for transformation and people as eternal investments.

The Calling

We are looking for someone who:

• Carries a deep conviction about discipleship and spiritual formation
• Thinks both pastorally and strategically
• Is energized by developing leaders and multiplying teams
• Can build structure without losing relational depth
• Communicates clearly and confidently in group settings
• Operates as a culture multiplier — strengthening alignment, clarity, and ownership
• You will help shape not only the process of discipleship at WAY Church, but the culture that sustains it.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee and continuously refine the church’s discipleship pathway
• Develop and strengthen small groups and group leaders
• Oversee volunteer team development
• Identify, mentor, and multiply emerging leaders
• Create clear next steps for new believers and new attendees
• Be present and engaged during Sunday services
• Participate in Saturday morning setup and Sunday gathering preparation
• Collaborate closely with church leadership to ensure alignment across ministries

Preferred (but not required):

• Ability to communicate from the mainstage several times per year (for the right candidate)
• Knowledge of StudioC useage (not required, but good to highlight on your resume.)

Integrated Leadership Contribution

As a full-time member of the WAY Church team, this role also contributes to our broader leadership and student development initiatives, including mentoring and supporting students within our growing online education community.

This component focuses on relational support, encouragement, and helping students thrive academically and spiritually as part of our wider mission.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in discipleship, pastoral ministry, or leadership development
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (in any field)
• Strong relational intelligence and leadership instincts
• Proven ability to build teams and develop leaders
• Spiritually mature, aligned with the vision of WAY Church, and committed to integrity
