Alright, you’ve done a bit of the homework and are still interested? Great, let’s talk some specifics about this role. This position is the lead over our entire Next Gen Ministry. You’ll be working to help us build out, develop, and scale for growth our Kids and Student Ministries under the banner of Next Gen. We know it’s a lot to manage, but you won’t be alone in this! We have a team of 5 support staff to assist you in bringing our vision to life for kids and teenagers each week. On weekends you’ll be working to make sure every child has “the best hour of their week” in one of our Kids classes. Kids Ministry is offered at all four services and serves birth through Grade 5 utilizing the Orange Curriculum. New Walk is in an amazing season of growth with over 350 kids on average each weekend and we need a dynamic leader to help guide the team as we take this ministry to the next level. On Wednesday evenings you’ll be working to create a robust, healthy, and growing student ministry each week for teens throughout our area with Orange Curriculum as the foundation. With small groups, large group teaching, worship and more you will be making sure teens are learning in an age-appropriate environment as they grow in their faith. We do need to make sure we cover a few of the basics on our end in terms of your qualifications too. We need someone with strong leadership and organizational skills to help direct this growing team and all the details involved in two large, vital ministries to our church. You’ll need to be able to move seamlessly from problem solving mode to teacher to parent liaison to recruiter all in one day. We are looking for someone with experience leading a growing kids and/or youth ministry, that can dream big and be creative, but also execute those dreams in a constantly moving church, and is ready for the next level of leadership and growth as a team member. Position Summary This role is ideal for a spiritually mature leader who loves God's Word, values theological clarity, and is passionate about helping students stand firm in faith. The candidate needs to be in agreement with Northbridge's theological convictions, have a passion for Youth Ministry, and have organizational strength, communication skill, and leadership development mindset. You will serve alongside a supportive elder-led leadership team, a committed Lead Pastor, and parents eager for intentional spiritual leadership. Reports to: Lead Pastor Employment Status: Full-time Key Responsibilities - Pioneer a new and fresh chapter of youth ministry at Northbridge Community Church in cooperation with our present children’s minister. - Lead and develop a biblically grounded ministry for grades 6-12, and support existing ministry in K-5. - Establish weekly gatherings focused on teaching, discipleship, worship, outreach, serving, prayer, and relationships that foster discipleship. - Build, recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers and leaders. - Equip and encourage parents as primary disciplers. - Communicate consistently to students, volunteers, parents, and staff. - Plan and lead family-focused events, retreats, and outreach opportunities that connect the church with the community. - Collaborate with the pastoral team to integrate family ministry into the overall vision and mission of the church. - Ensure all family ministry environments are safe, welcoming, and aligned with our church’s values and theology. - Develop and oversee a Singles Ministry for a growing singles population within the church Team Collaboration & Ministry Development: - Integrate students into the broader life of the church. - Steward the youth ministry budget and prepare for growth. Qualifications Spiritual & Character Requirements - A mature follower of Jesus Christ with a lifestyle that reflects biblical character and integrity. - Alignment with the church’s statement of faith, beliefs and mission, vision and values. - Demonstrated servant leadership with a heart for equipping others. Professional & Educational Requirements - Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred); ministry, theology, or leadership fields preferred. - 5yrs minimum of experience in church pastoral ministry with family ministry experience. - Strong understanding of church systems, structures, and ministry environments. - Experience with multiple services per weekend - preferred Skills & Competencies - Excellent organizational and skills. - Strong communication abilities – written, verbal, and interpersonal. - Ability to lead teams, coach staff, and build biblically healthy working relationships. - Ability to address challenges creatively and effectively, with a solutions-oriented mindset. - Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and grace under pressure. - Competency in office software, database/church management systems, and digital communication tools.
