Job Description
The vision of Crosspointe Youth Ministries is to see students fall in love with Jesus, trust the Word of God, and thrive as His Church. Through meaningful relationships, discipleship, and encouragement, we help young people discover their God-given purpose, develop their gifts, and influence their generation for the glory of God.
The Youth Pastor is a salaried position reporting directly to the Director of Student Ministries. The job will typically average 40-50 hours per week and is paid on a biweekly schedule according to the Crosspointe payroll schedule. All leave will need to be preapproved by the Director of Student Ministries and immediately put on the Crosspointe Main Calendar.
As with any position at Crosspointe Church, the Youth Pastor must exemplify and uphold the “Team Member Top Ten” of the church and encourage teammates to do the same. As ambassadors for Crosspointe Church, the Youth Pastor must align decisions, behavior, and speech with the vision, mission, and values of Crosspointe Church and support the Pastor, Crosspointe staff, and servant leaders.
This Position Description is intended to serve as a working guide for the Youth Pastor position and will be in effect for an initial six (6) month trial period. During this time, the responsibilities, expectations, and workflows of the position will be evaluated to gain a more complete and accurate understanding of the role's ongoing needs. At the conclusion of the six-month period, this Position Description may be amended, clarified, or expanded based on those findings. Any revisions will be intended to better define and strengthen the position and will not constitute a complete or substantial change to the core purpose, responsibilities, or expectations of the Youth Pastor role.
Key Tasks:
- Develop, implement, and continually improve a comprehensive ministry strategy for junior high, high school, and college students.
- Create and lead initiatives that disciple, care for, and engage young people in every stage of spiritual growth.
- Build meaningful relationships with students and their families through consistent presence, pastoral care, communication, and follow-up.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all youth and college services, events, activities, camps, conferences, retreats, and special gatherings.
- Lead, oversee, and attend Wednesday youth services, remaining available before and after services to connect with students, families, and leaders.
- Oversee the College Group, providing leadership, pastoral connection, and ministry direction.
- Recruit, train, equip, schedule, and care for youth and college ministry volunteers and leaders.
- Ensure all youth and college environments are safe, welcoming, spiritually formative, and aligned with the church’s mission, values, and policies.
- Provide pastoral care, encouragement, and biblical guidance to students and families as needed.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with students, parents, volunteers, church staff, and leadership regarding ministry plans, events, and needs.
- Oversee the youth ministry budget, including planning, tracking, reviewing, and processing all budget-related activities accurately and on time.
- Attend Sunday services and remain available to connect with students, families, volunteers, and guests.
- Participate in all required staff meetings, ministry meetings, trainings, and church-wide events.
- Collaborate with church leadership and ministry teams to integrate students into the broader life of the church.
- Evaluate ministry effectiveness regularly and make strategic adjustments to strengthen student engagement, discipleship, leadership development, and outreach.

- Maintain an agreed upon schedule with the understanding of the ebb and flow of ministry demands. Knowing some weeks you may work your scheduled times and other weeks may require more hours.

The hours designated for this position are structured to accommodate the unique needs and responsibilities associated with the role. To maintain clarity and avoid conflicts of interest, hours worked in this position must not overlap with time recorded at any other place of employment including self employment. Additionally, any planned absences must be communicated and entered on the shared calendar at least two weeks in advance to allow for proper planning and coverage.
- Must be routinely available for Crosspointe Church-wide events including prep, set-up, teardown and clean up for Easter, Christmas, Mom Week, Father’s Day, Baptisms, Child Dedications, Meet & Greet, etc.
- Uphold a strong standard of confidentiality when interacting with members, guests, and staff. All church-related communications and situations must be handled with discretion and integrity.
