What You'll Do

Worship Leadership & Schedule

The Worship Leader will provide leadership for the primary worship environments of The Crossing Church, including:

  • All Sunday services and church-wide gatherings.
  • First Wednesday services each month.
  • Wednesday Youth services
  • Young Adults services
  • Additional events as assigned.

Responsibilities for these services include:

  • Lead people confidently, authentically, and passionately in worship.
  • Plan and prepare worship experiences in collaboration with pastors, production teams, and other ministry leaders.
  • Lead rehearsals and service run-throughs.
  • Provide leadership and direction to worship teams before, during, and after services.
  • Participate in service and weekend debriefs and provide constructive feedback to continually improve the worship experience.
  • Help establish and maintain excellence in the worship environment and overall service experience.

Worship Team Development

  • Develop, build, and protect a healthy worship culture at The Crossing Church.
  • Lead team nights
  • Identify, recruit, onboard, and develop worship volunteers.
  • Provide pastoral care, encouragement, and spiritual leadership to worship team members.
  • Develop musicians and vocalists through coaching, feedback, and intentional leadership.
  • Lead and develop student worship teams with the goal of raising up the next generation of worship leaders and musicians.
  • Create opportunities for volunteers and emerging leaders to grow in their gifts, leadership, and spiritual maturity.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work closely with pastors, production teams, and other ministry leaders to create cohesive and impactful worship experiences.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with worship volunteers and ministry leadership.
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning meetings, and other team gatherings as required.
  • Support the overall vision, mission, and direction of The Crossing Church.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate Executive Pastor, Lead Pastor, or Senior Pastor.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous worship leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, develop, and empower volunteers and leaders.
  • Highly proficient vocal ability with the ability to lead and coach harmonies.
  • Strong musical ability, which may include instrumental performance, songwriting, arranging, or music production.
  • Ability to lead and develop a band and worship team musically.
  • Basic understanding of music theory.
  • Working knowledge of Ableton, Multitracks, Planning Center, and Monday.com
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills both on and off the stage.
  • Creativity, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
  • A commitment to excellence and continual improvement.
  • Ability to receive and provide healthy, constructive feedback.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

Developing Ministry Leaders

  • Identify individuals with potential for leadership and ministry involvement.
  • Recruit and develop volunteers and emerging worship leaders.
  • Provide encouragement, coaching, and opportunities for growth.
  • Delegate responsibility and empower others to lead.
  • Create a culture of development that prepares others to serve and lead effectively.
  • Invest in the next generation of worship leaders, musicians, and ministry leaders.
