Worship Director

Job Description

Wyatt Park Christian Church is seeking a passionate and spiritually grounded Worship Director to lead our Contemporary and Traditional worship services. The ideal candidate will blend excellent musical proficiency with pastoral leadership to create engaging, Christ-centered worship experiences. You will be responsible for planning services, mentoring volunteers, and fostering a culture of worship that resonates with our intergenerational congregation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Worship Leadership: Plan and lead weekly worship services, including song selection, service flow, and special events (e.g., Ash Wednesday, Christmas Eve, and funerals) in collaboration with the Pastor.
• Team Development: Recruit, audition, train, and schedule volunteer musicians, vocalists, and technical team members.
• Rehearsals: Lead weekly rehearsals to ensure musical excellence and unity among the team.
• AVL Management: Oversee the audio, video, and lighting (AVL) systems, ensuring a distraction-free environment for worship.
• Spiritual Leadership: Shepherd the worship team, providing encouragement and fostering a team culture of prayer and spiritual growth.

Qualifications

• A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Proficiency in leading worship while playing an instrument (guitar or piano preferred)
• Experience in leading, training, and building volunteer teams (vocalists, instrumentalists, and worship tech)
• Knowledge of modern worship music and technical systems (e.g., Planning Center, ProPresenter).
• Ability to read music and arrange songs
• A bachelor’s/master's degree in a music related field
