Waypoint is a growing church impacting and reaching it local community with a long history of ministrering to the youth in the community. We desire to creating authentic community, beign rooted in Christ and his message of hope, healing, and wholeness.

We are looking for someone who loves students and believes deeply in relational discipleship. This is an opportunity to help shape culture, build relationships, develop leaders, and create meaningful environment where students can grow in their faith and connection to the church.

Position Summary

The Student Ministries Pastor will lead and develop ministry strategy for middle school and high school students. This person will help create pathways for students to build relationships, grow spiritually, serve in the church, and develop a authentic growing relationship with Jesus. This role requires someone who is relational, self-motivated, adaptable, and energized by building ministry with students with the long term in mind.

Primary Responsibilities

Leadership & Discipleship

*Develop and lead a clear discipleship strategy for middle school and high school. *Build authentic relationships with students and families. *Create environments that help students grow spiritually, build community, and engage in the life of the church. *Encourage students to take practical next steps including salvation, baptism, serving, leadership, and discipleship. *Invest in and equip leaders who can relationally disciple students.

Gatherings & Activities

*Plan and lead regular gatherings, activities, events, and discipleship opportunities for students. *Help create fun, engaging, and spiritually meaningful environments. *Develop opportunities for students to invite friends and build connections.

Volunteer Development

*Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage volunteers. *Build a healthy volunteer culture centered around discipleship and relationships. *Equip leaders to invest relationally in students and built student leaders

Communication & Administration

*Communicate clearly with students, parents, volunteers, and church leadership. *Assist with calendars, event planning, registrations, and follow-up.

*Self-starter mentality with the ability to take initiative *Ability to build a ministry and relationships, not simply teach and run events *A growing and authentic relationship with Jesus *Passion for students, being involved in the community, and discipleship *Strong relational and communication skills *Team player who thrives in a flexible and growing church environment *2-3 years minimum experience in student ministry preferrede

Position Details

*Full-time *Flexible schedule with evening and weekend responsibilities *Located in Goshen, Indiana reaching multiple school systems *Compensation based on experience
