Job Description
Fort Payne First Methodist Church is seeking our next full-time Director of Youth Ministries to lead a Christ-centered, discipleship-focused ministry for students in 7thβ12th grade. This role provides the opportunity to shape a thriving ministry that reaches students throughout Fort Payne. We're looking for a mature and spirit-filled leader with a strong biblical foundation, a heart for students, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, parents, and volunteers. The director will provide vision, structure, and consistent leadership to help students grow in their faith and become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. Title: Director of Youth Ministries
Purpose:
To establish creative, relevant ministry to youth and their families in the Fort Payne area whereby students can come to know Christ, fall in love with Him and make him known to others.
**Qualifications: **
Strong Christian character and commitment Ability to build relationships with children from birth through 12th grade and their families. Ability to organize, empower, equip and provide oversight for adults working with children and youth
**Reporting Relationship: **
The Director of Youth Ministries will report to the Senior Pastor. The SPRC will provide an opportunity for annual review of job description, performance, and compensation The Director of Youth Ministries will be a member of the Staff Team
**Primary Duties and Expectations: ** Recruit, train and develop volunteer leadership for Youth Ministries Devote primary energy, time and talents in creating, organizing and implementing creative and relevant ministries Middle school and High School Students of Fort Payne First Methodist Church Participate faithfully in Staff Ministry Team meetings to provide input for overall disciple-making and outreach strategies of the First Methodist Church as it relates to youth. Develop, lead and implement, with guidance of the Pastor a curriculum of Christian education and fellowship that connects the different program opportunities available to youth including Sunday School, small groups and Wednesday Night Youth ministry Post and keep regular office hours. Invest and build vital relationship with students both in the church and beyond Create and maintain budgets for youth ministries Maintain open and timely communication with ministry colleagues, church support staff and congregation through email, Newsletter Articles, phone calls, etc Build relationships with students that strengthen their ties to parents, siblings and community Be informed of other ministry opportunities youth particularly as they relate to the connectional structure of the Global Methodist Church Be an advocate for youth in participation of all ministries at First Methodist Church Schedule two days off per week Attend worship at First Methodist Church regularly

Salary package set annually by the Administrative Board based on recommendations of the SPRC Annual vacation, annual sick leave, and other benefits as outlined in the Employee Handbook One week Continuing Education Annually is available
