Director of Families & Children

Job Description

Aversboro Road Baptist Church, an established Southern Baptist church located in Garner, North Carolina, is seeking a Director of Families and Children. This is a new position designed to help families better connect with the life and fellowship of our church.

The Director of Families and Children will primarily focus on building relationships with new and existing families and helping them find meaningful ways to participate in the ministries and community of Aversboro Road Baptist Church. This individual will also provide oversight and leadership for our children’s ministry and preschool ministry.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who works well alongside the Lead Pastor, church staff, and volunteers while fostering a welcoming and engaging environment for children and families.

Responsibilities Include:

• Building relationships with new and existing families
• Helping families connect to church ministries and fellowship opportunities
• Providing leadership and oversight for children’s ministry and preschool ministry
• Recruiting, supporting, and encouraging volunteers
• Working collaboratively with church staff and ministry leaders
• Assisting in planning and coordinating family and children’s events and activities

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children and parents in a ministry or educational setting preferred
• Associate Degree in a relevant field required; Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field preferred
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Commitment to supporting the mission and ministry of Aversboro Road Baptist Church

Salary:

• $55,000–$60,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience
