Qualifications
Because TCC values long-term pastoral partnership, we are committed to walking with, training, and supporting the Associate Pastor as he grows in ministry. We will stand by him, disciple and invest in him, and help him flourish as he remains faithful to Christ, His church, and the commitments outlined below.
- The candidate must be a passionate follower of Christ. His relationship with the Savior must be apparent and unmistakable in his life, leaving no question as to the genuineness and effectiveness of his faith. If married, his spouse must likewise demonstrate a relationship with Christ that defines her identity and directs her life.
- The candidate and his wife must be actively seeking continual transformation in Christ, cultivating a life shaped by prayer, Scripture, worship, accountability, discipleship, service, and obedience.
- The candidate and his wife must be committed to God’s calling in their lives.
- The candidate and his wife must feel called to ministry to young people and their families.
- The candidate and his wife must embrace accountability and seek to be mentored and discipled. They must willingly receive correction for the sake of Godliness and the building of the Kingdom.
- The candidate must be wholly committed to Christ and His Kingdom, demonstrating the heart of Christ by desiring the salvation of the lost and earnestly sharing the gospel both within and beyond formal ministry.
- The candidate must reject all worldly allegiances that rival loyalty to Christ and must model a life governed by Scripture rather than by cultural, ideological, or political identities
- The candidate must maintain a holy and Christlike public witness, including in his social-media presence.
- The candidate must demonstrate maturity and relational wisdom.
- The candidate must demonstrate a servant’s heart, desiring to serve the body wherever there is a need and opportunity.
- The Candidate must show humility, a cooperative spirit, and a willingness to submit to the leadership of the Church.

Scripture also requires that a minister not be arrogant or quick-tempered but instead be disciplined, upright, holy, and firmly committed to the trustworthy Word, so that he may encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.
- The candidate must demonstrate a genuine desire to grow in life and ministry under the authority of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, and in accountability to the Senior Pastor and the Trustees.
Theological Qualifications

Professional Qualifications
- The candidate should ideally have experience in children’s, youth, or family ministry (paid or volunteer), leading or training volunteers, teaching in church settings, pastoral care and visitation, and coordinating ministry programs or events. Experience across multiple age groups is preferred.
