Position Summary 6mo - 1 yr The Youth & Children Intern serves under the Lead Pastor to support and strengthen High Rock Church’s Next Generation Ministries. This part-time internship provides hands-on ministry experience in youth discipleship, children’s ministry organization, volunteer development, and family engagement. This role is designed for someone exploring or growing in ministry leadership. The intern will receive coaching, practical ministry training, and opportunities to develop teaching, leadership, and organizational skills. Reports To Lead Pastor Primary Responsibilities Youth Ministry (Primary Focus 6-12th Grade) Planning and leading weekly youth gatherings. - Teach biblical lessons. - Build relationships with students and encourage spiritual growth. - Support a discipleship-centered ministry culture. - Encourage student participation in worship, serving, and church attendance. - Plan retreats, outreach events, camps, and special activities. - Maintain communication with parents under pastoral guidance. Children’s Ministry Support (Birth to 6th grade) - Recruit, training, and scheduling volunteers. - Help maintain safe, organized, and well-staffed classroomsand nursery. - Support curriculum preparation and implementation. - Maintain check-in procedures and child safety standards. - Assist and teach in classrooms when needed. - Provide organizational support to strengthen weekly ministry systems. Volunteer Development - Help identify and recruit new volunteers. - Training and equipping ministry leaders. - Encourage volunteers and help foster healthy team relationships. Safety & Compliance - Maintain and uphold all child safety policies. - Ensure proper check-in and check-out procedures. - Help monitor safe classroom environments. - Run background checks on all volunteers in coordination with church leadership. - Ensure all volunteers complete required safety training. Family Ministry - Support parents as the primary disciplers of their children. - Help provide resources and communication that strengthen family discipleship. - Build relationships with families throughout the church. Church Participation - Participate in staff meetings and ministry planning. - Support church-wide events and initiatives. - Model faithful active church participation in the life of the church. Qualifications The ideal intern will demonstrate: - A godly man with a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. - A life that reflects biblical character and a clear testimony of faith. - Agreement with the doctrinal beliefs and mission of High Rock Church. - A love for children, students, and families. - Basic organizational skills and willingness to learn. - Ability to communicate well and build relationships. - A teachable spirit and openness to coaching. - Motivation to grow in ministry leadership. - Previous ministry experience is helpful but not required. Compensation & Schedule - Part-time internship — 25 hours/week - Annual Salary: $20,000 - Ministry-related training or continuing education as approved. - Ministry expenses reimbursed according to church policy. Job Description Children’s Ministry Director (40 hrs) Reports to: Family Pastor Status: Full-time (Salaried), Sunday-Thursday (evenings, weekends, and special events as needed) Principle Function The Children's Ministry Director is responsible for assisting the Family Pastor in providing leadership for the Children's Ministry (Birth–5th Grade) of Scotts Hill Baptist Church.
