THRIVE STUDENTS
We speak teenager fluently.
Thrive Students is a place where middle school and high school students belong before they believe, where they can be known, loved, challenged, and built up in Jesus.
When we meet
- Sundays: 9:00am and 10:30am
- Wednesdays: 6:30pm–8:30pm (high-energy, students take over the building)
Our Wednesday nights are loud, fun, worship-filled, Bible-based, and small-group-driven. Sundays are designed for connection, discussion, and growth.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Fulshear is exploding with growth, and so are our schools. Students are hungry for real friendships, consistent leaders, and the hope of the gospel.
Right now, Thrive Students has been sustained by faithful staff and volunteers. We’re grateful for that. And we’re ready for more.
We’re looking for a Student Pastor who will take what we have and build what we believe God wants next.
We’re not hiring someone to “keep it going.” We’re hiring someone to lead it forward.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We want a leader who is:
- A self-starter – you don’t wait to be told what to do, you see it and you build it
- A relationship builder – students know you, trust you, and want to be around you
- A vision carrier – you can take our mission and values and turn them into clear next steps for students and leaders
- A multiple-hat wearer – you’re not above setup, follow-up, or the behind-the-scenes work
- A player/coach – you can lead from the front and develop leaders as you go
- A change-friendly leader – you adapt fast, you learn fast, and you bring solutions, not excuses
- A high-energy, spiritually mature pastor – fun and faith are not in competition for you
- If you need a ministry that is already perfectly polished before you step in, Thrive won’t be a fit.
If you love building, leading, and growing, you might be exactly who we’re praying for.
WHAT YOU’LL BUILD
As our Student Pastor, you’ll lead Thrive Students across middle school and high school. You’ll help us create weekly environments that students want to invite their friends to, and you’ll build a discipleship pathway that forms students into lifelong followers of Jesus.
You’ll be in the action, not on the sidelines.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:
- Lead Thrive Students on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights
- Teach in a way that is biblical, clear, culturally aware, and student-friendly
- Build a student culture that is fun, welcoming, and spiritually hungry
- Develop and lead small groups so every student is known and discipled
- Recruit, train, and empower volunteers (we win through leaders)
- Show up where students are – schools, games, and community events
- Partner with parents and help families take next steps
- Own the calendar, communication, systems, and follow-through of Student Ministry
- Manage and steward the Student Ministry budget
- Collaborate closely with the Thrive team and carry the vision of the church
WHAT WE VALUE IN A TEAMMATE
We’re looking for someone who:
- Loves Jesus and lives submitted to Scripture
- Brings humility, hunger, and teachability
- Works hard and stays healthy (we value margin and longevity)
- Leads with “Others First”
- Wants to build roots in Fulshear, not just pad a resume
- Believes men and women are empowered to lead at every level
- Thrives on teamwork, feedback, and growth
WORK RHYTHM
We have a healthy schedule and clear expectations, with flexibility around ministry season and events:
- Monday–Thursday: 9:00am–4:00pm
- Wednesday: Flex workday with student night coverage typically 2:00pm–9:00pm
- Friday and Saturday: Days off unless needed for special events
- Sunday: 7:00am–1:00pm (may expand as we add services)
We value community. Being in a Life Group is required.
We work hard, laugh a lot, and build together.
