Position Title: Student Pastor Reports To: Lead Pastor Hours Per Week: 40 Hours per week Summary of Position: The Student Ministry Pastor is responsible to provide visionary leadership and oversight to the student ministry of The Ridge. Areas of Responsibility: 1. Ridge Students (Junior High & High School) 2. Potential strengths in Graphic Design, Marketing & Communications or Service Production Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Student Ministry: • Weekly Sunday morning experience for Junior High • Weekly Wednesday night service and small groups for Junior High & High School students • Outreach events and other community engagement • Lead and coordinate Summer Camp 2. Care and Connection • Share responsibility of pastoral care / counseling to those in need as directed • Help church family members connect to Small Groups and Dream Team. • Make assigned contacts in a timely manner. • Establish and maintain a process of care and connection in your area of responsibility that gives care to all of its volunteers and connects new volunteers. Keys to Success: How can I succeed in this position? 1. Have the required knowledge: a. Working knowledge of computers and basic computer programs, such as: Planning Center, Basecamp, Outlook, Excel, and Word b. Must have knowledge of the family ministry and small group ministry field. 2. Have the required skills: a. Strong leadership and creativity skills b. Excellence in planning and organization c. Ability to communicate well with others d. Ability to independently manage time based on job priorities e. Ability to work well in a multi-task environment f. Ability to lead and oversee teams g. Solid team player h. Willingness to be trained 3. Have the required disciplines: a. Dedication to a daily quiet time b. Tithe according to Biblical principles c. Attend church weekly (with family if applicable) d. Passion to learn and grow professionally e. Service-oriented f. High level of responsibility for your work g. Commitment to a life of excellence in planning and time management
