JOB TITLE: Pastor of Worship TIME REQUIREMENTS: Full Time REPORTS TO: Creative Arts Pastor CLASSIFICATION: Ministerial STAFF MISSION STATEMENT: Encourage and equip every partner to live a life of full devotion to Christ. POSITION SUMMARY: The Worship Pastor at The Grove is a dynamic leader passionate about fostering a culture of authentic worship. This role involves equipping and developing church members to use their God-given gifts, leading teams with excellence, and strategically planning worship experiences that inspire mission and faithfulness. The ideal candidate is a gifted musician, skilled recruiter, and collaborative team player who thrives in a high-energy environment while maintaining a positive, relational approach. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Worship Shepherding: Lead and inspire the music team to embody a lifestyle of worship both on and off the stage; lead young adult worship gatherings twice monthly; provide on-stage worship leadership for 40 weeks annually, with 12 Sundays off-stage. - Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement weekly, monthly, and quarterly plans for weekend gatherings, while participating in the creative arts team to ensure alignment and excellence. - Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, train, shepherd, and empower volunteers, leaders, and paid staff; identify and cultivate volunteer music leaders; build diverse musician teams for future expansion and - Collaboration and Resourcing: Partner with staff and ministry leaders to build, resource, and advise on music elements for various programs and events, including kids' ministry, student ministry, and retreats; communicate and uphold standards of excellence with team leaders and staff. - Reporting and Accountability: Submit a weekly summary of the weekend gathering experience to the Creative Arts Pastor every Monday. - Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Pastor. Qualifications and Skills - Humble — puts the team above themselves; lacks excessive ego - Hungry — driven, motivated, and willing to go above and beyond - Smart — emotionally intelligent and aware of how they impact others - 5+ years of worship leading experience in a church context with 1,500+ members. - Proficient in Planning Center Online and MultiTracks Playback. - Passionate about writing and producing music that reflects the heart, vision, and mission of the local church. - Passionate about equipping people to discover and use their spiritual gifts to serve the Church. - Proven leadership ability to inspire others toward mission, while nurturing their skills and talents. - Strong strategic thinking, planning, and relational skills to drive initiatives forward effectively. - Exceptional interpersonal abilities, a collaborative team spirit, and a consistently positive attitude. - Musical gifting with a relentless drive for recruitment, paired with passion for both creative innovation and meticulous detail. - Multi-Instrumentalist is a plus, but not required.
