Worship Pastor/Director

Sonrise Church is looking for a full-time Worship Pastor/Director to lead our church in honest, Scripture-centered worship. This person will help create Sunday gatherings where people can encounter Jesus, participate freely, and take their next step in faith. This role is pastoral, relational, and team-focused. We are looking for someone who can lead worship well, care for volunteers, build healthy teams, and partner with church leadership to shape meaningful worship gatherings. Key Responsibilities The Worship Pastor/Director will: - Plan and lead worship for Sunday services and special gatherings - Choose songs that are biblical, singable, and aligned with Sonrise Church - Recruit, schedule, train, and care for worship and production volunteers - Develop worship leaders, musicians, vocalists, and tech team members - Lead healthy rehearsals and communicate clearly with the team - Work with pastors and staff to plan worship gatherings - Use technology to support worship and remove distractions Desired Qualifications We are looking for someone who is: - A mature follower of Jesus with a growing life of worship, prayer, and Scripture - A strong worship leader, vocalist, and musician - Relational, humble, and able to build trust with others - A team builder who develops and empowers volunteers - Comfortable working with worship, band, vocal, and production teams - Organized, dependable, and able to create healthy ministry systems - Aligned with the vision, values, and theology of Sonrise Church Preferred Experience - 5+ years of experience in a similar worship ministry role - Experience leading bands, vocalists, and production volunteers - Familiarity with Planning Center, ProPresenter, and basic live production systems - Ability to work well with pastors, staff, and volunteers - Ministry or music training is helpful but not required Position Type: Full-time - Reports To: Executive Pastor of Arts - Location: Sonrise Church, Hillsboro, Oregon - Schedule: Sundays, rehearsals, staff meetings, and special events - Compensation: Base salary range $70k-$85k, based on qualifications and experience *as a full time position, this is also eligible for a benefits package Our hope is that this leader will help Sonrise become a church where worship is honest, Scripture is central, participation is eager, hospitality is radical, and people are continually invited to take their next step with Jesus.
