Traditional Worship and Music Director
Part-Time
Seeking a passionate and relational leader to connect people to full life in Jesus Christ through traditional music and worship. POSITION OVERVIEW: This position will primarily focus on leading traditional worship services with the following priorities: - Christ-centered worship - Gospel communication through music - Choir development RESPONSIBILITIES: TRADITIONAL MUSIC AND WORSHIP - Work with Worship and Music Commission and pastors to provide for worship of the congregation - Collaborate with pastors to choose songs for worship services connected to scriptural themes - Recruit, direct, and manage Sanctuary choir - Recruit, direct, and manage Chancel Handbell choir - Play and sing as needed in worship services - Accompany Women's Ensemble in worship - Schedule and accompany soloists for worship services - Develop opportunities for next generation (children and students) to learn and share musical gifts in worship. - Collaborate with pastors and contemporary music director in developing and implementing occasional blended worship experiences - Provide liturgical leadership, as assigned, during worship services - Along with pastors, provide care and support to choir members ADMINISTRATIVE - Supervise part-time Music Associate - Staff representative for monthly Worship & Music Commission meetings - Lead the Ocean Classic Concert Series Council - Attend Session Meetings as Needed - Instrument maintenance (organ, piano, bells, etc) - Develop and manage the budget for traditional music ministries with commission oversight - Maintain accurate information in weekly worship scripts QUALITIES: - Passionate disciple of Jesus Christ - Forms meaningful relationships with people of various ages - Self-starter - Empowering leader - Team-builder - Team player - Organized - Effective communicator QUALIFICATIONS: - Classical musical training - Choir direction experience necessary - Proficient on piano necessary - Proficient on organ preferred ACCOUNTABILITY: - Staff representative with Worship & Music Commission. - Relates to Senior Pastor/Head of Staff and Personnel Commission for support and accountability. SCHEDULE: This is a part-time salaried position, including mid-week rehearsal and weekend and holiday worship services. Currently weekly rehearsals are Thursdays 6:00 – 9:00 pm and services are Sundays at 9:30 am.
Director of Next Generation Student Ministries
Full-Time
Seeking a passionate leader to connect the next generation (children and students) and their families to full life in Jesus Christ; hands on focus with middle and high school students. POSITION OVERVIEW: Primary focus on ministry to facilitate student and family connections to full life in Jesus Christ with a strategic priority on helping them to: - Gather to Worship: Create meaningful worship experiences that engage the hearts of students - Grow in Groups: Foster a sense of community through small groups and learning opportunities - Go and Serve: Empower students to actively participate in service projects that positively impact the world This position will also include elementary school student and family ministry initiatives with the following priorities: - Bridge the Gap: Ensure smooth transitions for students from elementary to middle school - Peer Mentors: Create a culture where older students guide younger peers in service and discipleship EXPECTATIONS: Middle and High School - Work with Student Ministry Commission to develop and implement the PCTR mission framework and related strategic goals - Manage engaging weekly small groups - Develop and oversee monthly Fun and Fellowship Activities - Plan seasonal retreats, service projects, and summer camp/mission trips - Recruit and empower adult leaders for active participation in youth ministry - Develop supportive relationships with adult leaders, students, and their families by engaging in contact work outside of regular programs aimed at faith development, care, and support - Partner with Pastors and Student Ministry Commission to implement annual Confirmation experiences to help students explore and profess their faith - Manage the Youth and Family Ministries budget and fundraising activities, with Commission oversight Children’s Ministry - Collaborate with the Children’s Ministry Commission and the Director of Children’s Ministry Parents - Collaborate with Children’s and Adult Discipleship Commissions to develop partnerships with parents in discipleship of their students. Accountability: Reports directly to the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff. Serves directly with the Next Gen Student Ministry Commission.
