The Global Family Ministries Pastor exists to equip campuses to lead healthy Family Ministries that help children, students, and parents believe they are seen, known, and loved by God so they live for God.
This role provides strategic leadership, vision, and alignment for Family Ministries (birth through young adults) across North Coast Church by co-creating products (ministries and resources), processes (systems and structures), and training (leadership and skill development) that support campuses in leading healthy and effective ministries.
As a global leader, this role leads with influence, not positional authority, partnering with campus pastors and ministry leaders to cultivate ministries marked by health, unity, collaboration, and innovation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Align Key Leaders
- Build strong internal pipelines for staff and volunteer leaders, including partnership with the internship program, so that future pastoral hires ideally come from within
- Lead the way in building a thriving volunteer culture across North Coast, where recruiting, developing, and retaining leaders is a strength, not a challenge
- Define and align vision, values, and leadership expectations across campuses
Champion Every Age Group
- Equip and empower campus leaders to ensure age-appropriate disciple-making is taking place in every environment from children to students to young adults
- Champion the unique role each age group plays in the disciple-making process in the life of a family
Gauge Effectiveness and Success
- Define and measure ministry health using the engagement framework, including engagement and retention from one life stage to the next
- Advocate for the combination of data and stories to evaluate and improve effectiveness
Assist Ministry Systems
- Co-create simple, scalable systems, tools, and playbooks for campuses by gathering feedback and developing solutions that help ministries be effective and efficient, reducing complexity so campus teams can focus on people.
Expand Learning
- Create development through cohorts and collaborative learning environments
- Foster a culture of shared learning, coaching, and leadership multiplication
Partner with Parents
- Equip parents with tools and resources to lead spiritually at home, cultivating a pro-family culture across North Coast
- Reinforce that the church partners with parents and does not replace their role in the home
Field Engagement Expectations
- Be present in student ministry environments one midweek evening each week.
- Regularly visit campuses through weekend services to build relationships, observe ministry, support campus leaders, and strengthen partnerships.

- Participation rate of staff and key leaders in cohorts, trainings, and development environments
