New Hope Community Church is seeking a passionate and driven Student Ministry Pastor to lead a thriving and growing ministry of 150 students and 30+ volunteers (grades 6–12).
This is more than a programming role—it’s a calling to shape the next generation. We’re looking for a leader who will build a vibrant, Christ-centered ministry where students are known, discipled, and empowered to live out their faith boldly.
This role is both pastoral and strategic—focused on developing leaders, building sustainable systems, and reaching students not only inside the church, but across schools and the local community.

- Champion a clear and compelling discipleship pathway that moves students toward lasting faith
- Teach God’s Word in a way that is engaging, relevant, and transformative
- Create environments where students grow in Scripture, prayer, and authentic community
- Pastor students and families through real-life moments with care and intentionality
Service Planning & Execution
- Design and lead weekly student gatherings that are high-energy, engaging, and spiritually impactful
- Build and coordinate teams across teaching, worship, and production
- Create environments students want to invite their friends to
- Collaborate with church staff to align with the overall vision and direction of New Hope
Volunteer Leadership & Development
- Recruit, develop, and shepherd a team of 30+ volunteers
- Build a leadership culture that is healthy, fun, and mission-driven
- Invest in leaders through coaching, encouragement, and spiritual development
- Empower volunteers to take ownership and lead with confidence
Events, Camps & Missions
- Lead the vision and execution of possible camps, retreats, mission trips, and key events
- Create moments that lead to life change, commitment, and spiritual milestones
- Oversee planning, logistics, and safety with excellence
- Ensure strong follow-up so impact lasts beyond the event
Community & School Engagement
- Be a visible and relational presence in local schools and the community
- Build meaningful relationships with students, coaches, and school leaders
- Develop strategies to reach unchurched students
- Inspire students to live missionally in their everyday lives
Leadership & Collaboration
- Contribute to the overall health and vision of New Hope as part of the staff team
- Collaborate across ministries to create a unified Next Gen strategy
- Lead with humility, initiative, and a team-first mindset
Qualifications
- A growing, authentic relationship with Jesus Christ
- Strong alignment with the mission and values of New Hope Community Church
- Proven experience in student ministry leadership (preferred)
- Dynamic communicator who connects naturally with students
- Strong leadership and team-building ability
- Highly organized with the ability to execute and follow through
- A genuine love for students and their families
What We’re Looking For
- A leader who believes the next generation matters right now—not someday
- Someone who can build systems without losing the relational heartbeat
- A culture shaper who brings both fun and depth to ministry
- A self-starter who sees opportunities and runs toward them
- A pastor who leads with humility, passion, and vision
Measures of Success
- Students actively taking steps in their faith and owning it personally
- A growing and thriving volunteer leadership culture
- Increasing engagement from both churched and unchurched students
- Strong, visible connections within local schools and the community
- Excellent, life-giving weekly services and events
Work Schedule
Full-time position
Consistent presence at weekly services, student gatherings, and key events

Why Bryan, Ohio?
Bryan offers the best of both worlds—a tight-knit, welcoming community with a strong sense of connection, paired with easy access to larger cities like Toledo and Fort Wayne.
It’s a place where relationships matter. Where schools are central to the community. Where you’ll quickly know students, families, and leaders by name—not just by attendance.
For a Student Ministry Pastor, that means real opportunity:
To build meaningful connections in local schools
To be a visible and trusted presence in the community
To see life change happen not just in a building, but across an entire town
If you want to do ministry where you can actually know people and be known, Bryan is that kind of place.
Why New Hope Community Church?
New Hope Community Church is a growing, life-giving church with a clear mission: to help people find hope one step at a time.
We care deeply about the next generation—not just as attendees, but as leaders right now. Our student ministry is doing well, with 150 students and a strong team of 30+ volunteers, but we believe the best is still ahead.
At New Hope, you’ll find:
- A church that is unified around mission and vision
- A staff team that genuinely enjoys serving together
- A culture that values compassion, acceptance, community, and generosity
- Leadership that is willing to empower and trust you to lead
This isn’t a place where you’re expected to maintain the status quo.
This is a place where you’ll be encouraged to dream, build, and lead boldly.
