Garden City Baptist Church is a Christ-centered, community-engaged, mission-driven, multigenerational church family committed to helping people know and follow Jesus. Our thriving children’s ministry serves around 25 kids weekly and is built on a foundation of gospel-centered teaching, dynamic programming, and genuine relationships.
Position Overview:
The Children’s Ministry Director will provide leadership, vision, and oversight to all children’s programs from birth through 5th grade. This individual will work alongside dedicated volunteers and staff to create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment where children can grow in their faith. This is a part-time position with flexible hours and negotiable pay.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee weekly children’s ministry programming and special events
· Plan and implement faith-based activities aligned with the church’s mission
· Serve as the point person for volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling
· Co-direct TeamKID and Vacation Bible School (VBS)
· Lead regular children’s ministry committee meetings
· Manage communication via email, Facebook, newsletter, or other group communication platforms
· Support administrative needs including records and safety procedures
· Substitute teach in children’s programs when needed
Qualifications:
· A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to disciple children
· Experience in children’s ministry or education (preferred)
· Strong leadership and organizational skills
· Effective communicator and team player
· Comfortable using digital tools and social media
· Will affirm and teach according to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
Position Details:
Position Type: Part-Time (likely 15-20 hours a week depending on candidates’ availability)
Compensation: $22-27 and hour based on experience/education
