Position Title: Junior/Senior High Youth Pastor
Reports To: Lead Pastor / Church Elders
Employment Type: Full-time
Position Summary
The FCC Junior/Senior High Youth Pastor is responsible for the development of a dual-focused youth ministry for students in grades 6–12.
Lead a discipleship-focused ministry that helps students develop a growing relationship
with Jesus Christ through Biblical teaching, authentic Christian community, mentoring relationships, service opportunities, and intentional spiritual growth.
Develop and lead outreach initiatives that connect with unchurched students in the
surrounding schools, neighborhoods, and community. The goal is to build bridges through relationships, events, service, and consistent presence to help students encounter the love and truth of Christ.
The Youth Pastor will work to help equip parents to be the primary spiritual influence in their homes while also helping students become integrated into the larger life and mission of the church.
Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship
- Teach biblically sound lessons that are engaging and age-appropriate
- Disciple students through small groups, mentoring, and personal relationships
- Encourage students to develop spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Bible study, service, and evangelism
- Develop student leaders who actively serve, disciple peers, and participate in the life of
- the church
- Help students transition into long-term ownership of their faith and connection to the broader church body
- Model Christ-centered living in both public and private life
Parent & Volunteer Leadership
- Equip and encourage parents as the primary spiritual influencers of their children
- Maintain healthy and consistent communication with parents regarding ministry activities and student development
- Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers for youth ministry
- Provide direction, encouragement, and leadership development for volunteer leaders
- Ensure all volunteers adhere to policies, child safety procedures, and ministry expectations
Program Development & Execution
- Develop and maintain a clear youth ministry vision and master plan
- Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings, Bible studies, small groups, and discipleship opportunities
- Organize retreats, camps, mission trips, outreach events, and service opportunities
- Develop curriculum or select appropriate teaching materials
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for all students
- Utilize effective communication systems and appropriate technology/social media tool to engage students and parents
Outreach & Evangelism
- Develop outreach strategies to connect with unchurched students in the local community
- Build relationships with local schools, community organizations, and families
- Plan outreach-focused events such as sports nights, service projects, and community events
- Equip and encourage students to invite friends and actively participate in evangelism efforts
- Follow up with new visitors and families to help them transition into ongoing
- involvement and discipleship
Administration & Organization
- Maintain attendance records, event planning details, and communication systems
- Develop and manage the youth ministry budget
- Ensure compliance with church child protection, transportation, and safety policies
- Create and publish governing policies for the youth ministry program as needed, subject to Elder approval
- Participate in staff meetings, ministry planning, and church-wide initiatives

Work Expectations
- This is a salary position based upon a 40-hour work week
- Regular attendance at church services and youth events
- Availability during evenings and weekends as needed
- Participation in staff meetings, leadership development, and ministry training
Education / Experience Required
- BA or BS in a ministry field or at least in Junior Year of your degree
