Youth Director
Full-Time · $60,000 - $67,000
FBC recognizes that many youth pastors serve in this vital role for a few years before stepping into associate or senior pastor positions. We see that as an opportunity, not a limitation. You’ll work closely with both the Senior and Executive Pastors, serve alongside our elder team, and be encouraged in your continuing education. Learn more about this position from our senior pastor https://vimeo.com/1133187379 Role Summary The Youth Pastor will shepherd, disciple, and mobilize the youth (typically grades 6-12) at FBC. This person will design and lead relevant programming, build deep relationships, equip volunteer leaders, partner with parents, and integrate youth ministry into the broader life of the church. Key Responsibilities - Plan, lead, and teach at weekly youth gatherings / small groups / Bible studies - Organize and oversee retreats, mission trips, camps, discipleship tracks, and service opportunities - Recruit, train, equip, and mentor volunteer youth leaders - Develop age-appropriate curriculum and teaching series (or adapt existing ones) - Provide pastoral care, counseling, and discipleship to youth - Communicate effectively with youth, parents, church staff, and congregation - Engage youth in broader church events, worship, and ministries - Maintain youth ministry budget, resources, and logistics (venue, transportation, materials) - Partner with parents, schools, and community organizations to extend outreach - Represent youth ministry in staff meetings and contribute to church vision and strategy - Adhere to and enforce child safety / background check policies Qualifications & Characteristics Required: - A growing, committed relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with FBC’s doctrinal statements - Some experience in youth ministry (volunteer or staff) - Strong relational ability with teenagers and volunteer leaders - Competent teaching, communication, and leadership skills - Organizational, planning, and project management capabilities - Willingness to work evenings, weekends, overnight on retreats, etc. - Ability to pass background checks and complete child protection training Preferred / Bonus: - Bachelor’s degree or certificate in theology, ministry, Christian education, or related field - Formal training in youth ministry - Experience running retreats, mission trips, camping ministry - Skilled in digital / social media / youth communication technologies - Ability to cast vision and grow a youth ministry What You’ll Love About Serving Here - Housing provided - Continuing Eduation provided - A collaborative, supportive church staff environment - Opportunity to shape and grow a ministry - Serving in a church that values youth as full participants in the body - Strong volunteer base and willing parents to partner with - A place to mentor, influence, and leave a legacy in young lives
