ASSOCIATE PASTOR (POSSIBLE SUCCESSION TO LEAD PASTOR) Purpose: Along with the Lead Pastor, the Associate Pastor shall do everything in his power to contribute to making Family Bible Church as spiritually healthy of a church as possible, uniting believers of all walks of life into loving, discipling relationships. The goal of the Associate Pastor is to exalt Jesus Christ with accurate, relevant, and engaging teaching of the whole Word of God. Qualifications: - Evidences a stable, mature relationship with Jesus Christ with a clear salvation testimony and exhibits evidence of outstanding spiritual growth - Understands and maintains moral and spiritual qualifications as expressed in 1 Timothy 3:1-12; 2 Timothy 2:14-15; Titus 1:5-9; and Acts 20:28; and so must his wife. - A minimum educational requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in ministry or Bible-related majors - Minimum of five years in leading multiple staff (Associate, Campus, Lead) - No pre-existing health conditions limiting the performance of duties - Understands that he may or may not move into the Lead Pastor Role Job Description: - Develop and Oversee a unified approach to Life Groups & Adult Discipleship Ministries - Lead regular recruitment and training opportunities for lay leaders to accomplish this - Develop regular marriage enrichment opportunities, especially directed at younger marriages. - Gradually assume 1/3 of Sunday morning teaching/preaching, team-teaching through series. - Attend both Elder and staff meetings. - Within the first year of being called to Family Bible Church, complete evaluation of leadership skills with the goal of taking the next step to move into replacement of Lead Pastor. - Accountability: Responsible to the board of Elders, and mutually accountable to the other pastoral and ministerial staff for personal and ministry performance, expenses, etc. Application items requested for consideration for the role: - Resume - Statement of Conversion and Baptism - Philosophy of Ministry - Statement of Agreement with the FBC Constitution & Bylaws (https://www.ohfbc.org/about) - Education: Bachelor’s degree in ministry or Bible-related majors - Ministry Experience: A minimum of five years in leading multiple staff (Associate, Campus, Lead) - Link to a Video Sermon Position will remain open until filled.
