BASIC ASSUMPTIONS - Candidate will be a "born again" believer in Jesus Christ. (John 3:1-14). - Committed to a consistent & growing walk with the Lord. - Possess good people skills, both in small groups & one-on-one relationships. - Have the ability to relate to a diverse congregation. - Agree with the Constitution of the Berean Fellowship & Crete Berean Church. - Support Crete Berean’s Vision, Mission and Statements of Faith as a member of Crete Berean Church. - Cast, communicate, and carry out the Vision of Crete Berean Church. Commit to: - Equipping Philosophy (Ephesians 4:7-16) - The Great Commision (Matthew 28:17-20) - Church Leadership (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-5) PRIMARY RESPONSIBIITIES: - Responsible for the general spiritual direction and health of the church in conjunction with the Elders. - Lead the congregation toward a common Mission and Vision as approved by the Elders. - Lead the spiritual development and unity of the pastoral & office staff. - Watch over the spiritual development and unity of the Elders. - Oversee all worship services and work with the worship team to plan Christ-centered, inspirational worship. - Lead the Bible-based preaching ministry of the church SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Teach in other ministries when possible. - Oversee the health of church ministries and volunteer leaders. - Conduct weddings and funerals. - Provide Biblical counseling on a limited basis. - Visit members in homes and in hospitals as needed. - Attend monthly meetings of the Three Rivers District of the Berean Fellowship. - Attend the annual Pastors' Conference and Berean National Convention (financial support provided). - Attend ministry-focused conferences in addition to the Berean Pastors' Conference and Berean National Convention (financial support provided). - Promote and participate in the Berean Fellowship.
